Red Sky Books is a new publishing venture based in Ireland and Scotland.

We believe in the power of the written word to change society for the better. From the Bible and the Qu'ran to the Communist Manifesto and the Wealth of Nations, from The Origin of Species and Silent Spring  to the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists and Grapes of Wrath, books have had a profound impact in shaping the world we live in.

Our focus is on radical and progressive fiction and non-fiction, written in clear, accessible, down-to-earth language. While complex academic texts have their place, we aim to publish books that reach out to ordinary working people.

Our first publication - There Will Be Another Day by the acclaimed novelist and republican socialist activist Peadar O'Donnell (1893-1896) is now available.

Written in 1963, it tells the gripping inside story of the nationwide struggle that began in a West Donegal churchyard and led to the Anglo-Irish trade war and the tearing up of the 1921 Treaty.

We will be publishing some of Peadar's  other key books in the near future, as well as contemporary writings from the frontline of political activism in  Ireland, Scotland and beyond.
